Fueled by concerns about the effects of HIV/AIDS on the lives of their children, two California mothers
were inspired to create the Until There's A Cure® Foundation, a non-profit organization. Founded in 1993,
the Foundation's expressed goal is to raise millions of dollars to:
- Fund care services and foster compassion for those infected with HIV/AIDS
- Provide prevention education
- Advocate vaccine development to eradicate HIV

What distinguishes this Foundation from others seeking to help those facing this disease is that the
sole source of financing for this effort is The Braceleta simple yet elegant symbol reminiscent of
the POW/MIA bracelets worn during the 1960s and 1970s. The Bracelet is the key source for funding
efforts in HIV/AIDS education, care services, and vaccine development. A symbol which serves as a bridge
uniting people to fight HIV/AIDS, The Bracelet is designed to help increase awareness, compassion, understanding, and responsibility.
The Bracelet is available in several different styles and materials:
our original cuff style, sterling with leather cords, and jellies.
The Foundation quickly gained recognition and increased sales significantly when The Bracelet was
showcased at The Body Shop. Kenneth Cole, Ben Bridge Jewelers, and Virgin Megastores have since joined them.
The Bracelet appeals to people throughout
the country. The real power of The Bracelet is its ability to remind everyone that we must all continue to work
together... Until There's A Cure. And it's not a silent remembrance. People who wear The Bracelet report that
when friends see it on their wrists, it inspires meaningful conversations about AIDS.
The Bracelet was created as the cornerstone for the Until There's A
Cure Foundationan innovative 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
working against the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Bracelet generates
funding for HIV/AIDS related causes. There is NO cure for AIDS.
Since it was introduced in 1994, 930,000 Bracelets have sold and over
$9 million has been raised for grants channeled toward HIV
vaccine development, care services, and youth education.
The Bracelet is a symbol designed to remind people of how much the HIV/AIDS pandemic has
altered the lives of millions of individuals.
The Bracelet is sold in stores throughout the country. All proceeds from
The Bracelet sales are directed to an HIV concern of the retailer's choice. This collaboration has had
tremendous benefits for retail organizations as well as the Foundation.
For the current generation of young Americans, the Foundation supports innovative education programs to encourage
safer behaviors. The Until There's A Cure Foundation supports programs that teach teens and young adults, through
peer-to-peer education, about the dangers of HIV.
For those living with HIV/AIDS, the Foundation provides financial support for care and other services.
Funds include grants to medical care providers, hospices, food delivery services, and social service agencies,
building support in the community for people with AIDS, so that compassion and care are the norm rather than
the exception.
For future generations, the Foundation advocates AIDS vaccine development. A vaccine is the best hope for
reducing the transmission of this deadly virus.
The Foundation's Public Service Advertising campaign promotes the fight
against AIDS with celebrity advertisements in leading magazines nationwide. Pro-bono advertisements
appear in Entertainment Weekly, POZ, InStyle, Seventeen, Esquire,
Good Housekeeping, ESPN, Shape, and many more.
Until There's A Cure is one of the few organizations that continually promotes the cause
nationally to those most at riskindividuals 25 years old and youngerand offers them a way
to participate... by purchasing and wearing The Bracelet.
Our nationwide public service ad campaign serves as a platform for education and compassion, and it helps support
our retail stores in their efforts to sell The Bracelet. The Foundation has been joined by renowned scientists,
musicians, celebrities, athletes, and politicians in our efforts to direct awareness to all segments of the population
about the indiscriminate spread of this pandemic.
The Bracelet has garnered tremendous national and international recognition and identification as a powerful
symbol of remembrance and hope that we can work together... Until There's A Cure.
